New collab with De Pul in Uden

Students will learn what it takes to run a music venue

Metal Factory and pop stage De Pul in Uden are going to work together intensively. The students will work with the team of the Uden pop venue in the areas of artist handling, programming, organizing and marketing. “Offering young people opportunities is something we have been working hard at”, says De Pul programmer Hugo Berends. “The students get a lot of freedom and trust to discover what goes on at a pop venue.”

The idea came from the programmer himself. “We have long had the desire to cooperate with a music school. Metal is a genre that we program a lot, so the link with Metal Factory was quite logical and quickly established. And we clicked with the students right away.”

At De Pul, the students will soon be active during music productions. “They will work in artist supervision and with the lighting and audio team.” They will also be involved in future marketing plans and programming. “This is very valuable for our students,” says Metal Factory teacher Kevin Quilligan: “They get the chance to learn and help in a real workplace and work with people from the field.”

The students will not only work at De Pul. Musical plans have also been made. “Metal Factory bands will definitely have a place on our stage,” Berends said. The first performance has already been scheduled for March 30.
